Asia’s Top 100 Startups at Echelon Summit



Some of Asia’s most promising startup companies will be gathering in Singapore later this month to exhibit at the Echelon 2015 Asia Summit. From more than 500 total applications, the Top 100 startups have been handpicked to participate at this year’s event, which will be held on 23-24 June.

Startups have been selected from the following countries:

Joy Sprouts (Hong Kong)

Joy Sprouts seeks to help parents better support their child’s learning in early life. With a balanced approach that they call “Total Development”, the Joy Sprouts program is based on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Head Start Framework and provides access to a variety of app-based modules.

“A child’s early years of development are very important, as this is when they learn

the most about the world around them. Development during the early years lays the

foundation of future learning success and helps to ensure that a child reaches their full potential.”

Supported by a team of educational experts, Total Development is intended to help children develop in five important areas, namely:

  • Cognition and General Knowledge (Math, Science, and Social studies)

  • Physical Development and Health

Pepper Talk (India)


Founded in July 2014, Pepper Talk is a mobile messaging platform designed to help businesses and apps improve user engagement via in-app messaging. It is iOS, Android and Web ready, meaning that it can be embedded into almost any site or platform in a matter of minutes. Pepper Talk’s features include:

  • 1-to-1 messaging
  • Group chat
  • Photo and location sharing
  • Real time notifications
  • Custom data sharing

It has already found use in real estate apps and community chat concerning weather prediction, global events and sporting matches.

Pepper Talk, which was awarded as the Judges’ Choice from the Indian qualifying round, is reportedly seeking US $1 million in Angel investment.

Flow Account (Thailand)


Flow Account has developed a cloud-based platform aimed at providing small businesses in Thailand with a one-stop solution for their accounting needs. Their technology enables businesses to create and send invoices, as well as tracking debtors. Additional functionality means that users can also access management tools such as monthly sales reports, meaning that owners can better manage their businesses.

Flow Account won the Judges’ Choice award amongst Thai qualifiers for Echelon 2015.

Over the course of the 2-day event, delegates from these innovative companies will have the opportunity to network with potential investment, trade and strategic partners. The Top 10 startups will also compete for the title of ‘Most Promising Startup in Asia’ by pitching their business idea on stage in front of a panel of international judges. With a number of exciting speakers listed to appear, accompanying a packed schedule of focused workshops, Echelon 2015 is shaping up to be a memorable event.
